Data Deletion Policy

Sign in and open Account Settings → Delete account. Type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is immediate, permanent and irreversible — there is no recovery window and no grace period.

If you cannot access your account, email contact.metalscan.ai@gmail.com from the address registered to the account, with the subject line "Account deletion request". Include the registered email address and, if you have one, your business name.

• We acknowledge every request within 24 business hours.
• We may ask one verification question to confirm you own the account.
• Verified requests are completed within 30 days, and usually within 7 days.
• We confirm in writing once deletion is complete.

• Your account credentials, profile, business details and notification preferences.
• Every scan, uploaded image and AI analysis result.
• Your entire inventory, including photos, weights, grades and valuations.
• CRM records: customers, suppliers, jobs, quotes, invoices, purchase orders, notes and reminders.
• Marketplace listings, offers, transactions and pickup arrangements you created.
• Saved devices, active sessions and two-factor recovery codes.
• Notifications and in-app messages addressed to you.

A limited set of records survives deletion because law or legitimate business need requires it:

• Payment, invoice and tax records held by our payment processor, retained for the period required by tax and financial regulation.
• Security and administrative audit entries, which are anonymised so they no longer identify you.
• Aggregated, non-identifying statistics that cannot be linked back to any individual.

These records are never used to rebuild your profile and are not shared for marketing.

Deleting your account cancels any active subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid billing period and is not itself a request for a refund — see our Refund Policy for refund eligibility. Cancel or downgrade before deleting if you want a refund assessed.

Encrypted infrastructure backups may retain residual copies for up to 30 days after deletion. These are inaccessible to our staff for ordinary use, are never restored into the live product to recover a deleted account, and expire automatically.

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Individual scans, inventory items, customers, suppliers, quotes, invoices and marketplace listings can each be deleted from within the application at any time.
